Representations / Liaisoning with the Government of India:
On 1st July, 2024 CLFMA OF INDIA wrote a letter to Shri. Rajiv Ranjan Singh, Hon’ble Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Department of AH&D, GOI, Prof. S.P. Singh Baghel, Minister of State of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Adv. George Kurian, Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, GOI, Ms. Alka Upadhyaya, IAS, Secretary AHD, Department of AH&D, GOI and on 2nd July wrote a letter to Shri. O. P. Chaudhary, Joint Secretary (NLM/PC), Department of AH&D, GOI with a humble request to allow duty free Maize and Soya Meal import by Animal Feed Manufacturers. These follow up letters sent mentioning earlier letter dated 19th December, 2023 addressing to Shri. Parshottam Rupala, Hon’ble Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying. GOI with the same request.

CLFMA OF INDIA’s Chairman, Mr. Suresh Deora has sent a request letter to Shri. Sanjeev Chopra, Secretary (F&PD), Department of Food and Public Distribution, New Delhi to allow duty free imports of Maize & GM Soya Meal on 26th July, 2024.
In response to a Government of India’s request, CLFMA OF INDIA provided the latest prices of Cattle and Poultry Feed for the IMC Meeting on feed and fodder prices on 31st July, 2024.

Meeting:
On 10th July, 2024, The Commissioner of Animal Husbandry, The Government of Maharashtra, Maharashtra State, Pune has sent an invitation to CLFMA Chairman Mr. Suresh Deora to attend the Meeting along with the Farmers and Dairy Industrialists & Associations under the Chairpersonship of Shri.Radhakrishna Eknathrao Vikhe Patil, Hon’ble Minister Revenue, Animal Husbandry & Dairy Development in Mantralaya, Mumbai. The discussions focused on the issues faced by dairy farmers and industrialists. The minister assured dairies and plant operators of a Rs.1.5 per liter charge for converting excess milk into powder and butter. He also mandated a procurement price of Rs. 30 per liter for farmers, with an additional Rs.5 per liter from the government to ensure that farmers receive Rs. 35 per liter in total. The current domestic market is dealing with excess stock of milk powder and butter. Maharashtra, a top milk-producing state in India, produces 1.7 crore liters of milk daily, with nearly 70 lakh liters consumed directly. Ms. Shilpa Utekar, Manager, represented CLFMA OF INDIA at this meeting.
On July 11th, 2024, Mr. Suresh Deora, Chairman of CLFMA OF INDIA, visited Krishi Bhavan in New Delhi to meet with Prof. S. P. Singh Baghel, Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying and Ministry of Panchayati Raj. The meeting focused on detailed discussions about industry-related issues. CLFMA OF INDIA had initially requested an appointment on June 21st, 2024, addressing the request to Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh, Hon’ble Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying (FAH&D), along with Prof. S. P. Singh Baghel, and Shri George Kurian, both Ministers of State for FAH&D. Following the request, CLFMA received a response confirming an appointment with Prof. S. P. Singh Baghel, Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying and Ministry of Panchayati Raj.
CLFMA OF INDIA Chairman Mr. Suresh Deora attended a meeting organized by Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, GOI on 22nd July, 2024. CLFMA OF INDIA provided the Cattle and Poultry Feed Ingredient prices data in detail.
On August 19, 2024, Dr. A. S. Ranade will attend a BIS meeting, a day-long workshop and brainstorming session for the technical committee members of FAD and TXD. The session aims to foster greater synergy between BIS and its stakeholders.
CLFMA OF INDIA Chairman Mr. Suresh Deora attended the meeting scheduled on 27th August, 2024 to discuss on the availability of surplus rice in various FCI godown for Animal Feed. A detailed discussion on the distribution of Rice to Feed Industry took place during the meeting. Executive Director of Food Corporation of India was present during the meeting.
11th Annual General Meeting of Agriculture Skill Council of India attended by Ms. Shilpa Utekar, Manager, CLFMA OF INDIA on 27th August, 2024.

Webinar / Seminar:
From 12th to 13th July, 2024 5th SEA – AICOSCA Cottonseed, Oil and Meal Conclave - 2024 was held at Courtyard by Marriott, Ahmedabad. The conclave emphasized sustainability, innovation, and collaboration within the cottonseed industry. The event provided a platform for stakeholders to discuss and address the pressing issues and opportunities, emphasizing continuous improvement in cultivation practices, technological advancements, and strategic marketing for the industry’s future success. On 13th July, 2024 in Session VII, CLFMA OF INDIA’s Chairman Mr. Suresh Deora participated as a panelist in Session VII on “Oil Meal with Focus on Cottonseed Meal & Rice Bran Extraction” and the Chairperson was Dr. Dinesh Bhosale. Vice President – Animal Nutrition. Over 300 delegates including industry experts, government officials, researchers attended the conclave.
CLFMA OF INDIA Treasurer, Mr. Nissar F. Mohammed participated as the Speaker in the Shrimp Summit held on 29th July, 2024 at the ITC Chola, Chennai organized by the Centre for Responsible Seafood (TCRS), U.S.A. Mr. Nissar F. Mohammed, was one of the speakers at the summit. He emphasized the need for an early Fishery Improvement Programme (FIP) with government support and guidance from the Marin Trust, U.K.
CLFMA OF INDIA Treasurer, Mr. Nissar F. Mohammed had received an invitation as the esteemed speaker for the U.S. Grains Council to the Aquaculture Seminar. The theme of the Seminar was “Aqua Feeds and Feeding” on August 6, 2024 at Taj Vivanta, Vijaywada. This Seminar was scheduled for all the multiple stakeholders from the Aqua Feed Industry to meet and collaborate for growth of the industry. The topic for the presentation on the subject was “Industry Feedstock Challenges” followed by Q &A session. Mr. Nissar F. Mohammed spoke on the topic “Raw Material Scenario for Aqua Feed”.

CLFMA OF INDIA supported DDGS Yatra’s Seminar at Ludhiana on 21st August, 2024
“Feed of the Future, For India, By India” is the theme of DDGS Yatra which aims to bring all stakeholders to a common platform to discuss opportunities available in light of the sustained availability of DDGS of good quality for the animal feed industry. With the help of Department of Animal Nutrition, GADVASU, All India Distillers Association organized this seminar. It was supported by various partners like CLFMA of India, GEMA, Novonesis and Animal Nutrition Society of India. Dr. Udeybir Singh Chahal, Mr. Sanjit Padhi and Dr. Dinesh Bhosale played important role in organizing this event. Dr Parminder Singh, Additional Director of Extension Education, welcomed all dignitaries and participants. Dr. Parkash Singh Brar, Director of Extension Education gave welcome address and introduced GADVASU. Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Honourable Vice Chancellor felicitated all guests and speakers. Mr. Sunil Dugggal, AIDA gave presentation about objective of DDGS Yatra. Dr. H. S. Jat, Director, ICAR Indian Institute of Research on Maize, Ludhiana gave excellent information about mission maize – the growth engine of the future. Dr. Rajiv Thakur, Lead – Fresh milk sourcing, sustainability, competency building, Nestle India Ltd., talked about why cattle feed quality is important for better quality milk production. Dr. Amit Kumar Sharma, Assistant Professor, GADVASU talked about how to use DDGS in animal feeds. Mr. BH Mohan of Novonesis talked about “Innovative Bio-solutions for Repurposing Corn DDGS: Unlocking Multifaceted Applications”. Mr. Munish Sharma, General Manager, PDS and Mr. Ashok Kumar, President, Punjab Feed Manufacturers Association talked about challenges faced by dairy farmers and feed millers while using DDGS. Around 190 participants from various sectors attended the Seminar.

Stakeholder Outreach:
On July 10, 2024, in honour of the 248th anniversary of American Independence, Ambassador Eric Garcetti requested the presence of CLFMA Chairman, Mr. Suresh Deora at the “Let the Stars Align” event to celebrate US–India Space Collaboration. The event took place from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Taj Palace Hotel Durbar Hall in Chanakyapuri, New Delhi.
