Monthly round-up – August – September 2020
Dear CLFMA members and industry colleagues,
It has been almost two years, I am heading CLFMA and communicating with you through monthly round ups from time to time.
Amidst the challenges for the Livestock sector due to Covid 19 pandemic, CLFMA has been relentlessly working hard for the survival of Livestock Industry and its efforts has been acknowledged by the central and state government and has also led to a strong tie up with livestock related government departments at the centre and state.
Some of the activities of CLFMA for the month of August and September are listed below:

List of Representation Given by CLFMA to Government of India in the month of August 2020 are as follows:

On August 10, 2020 CLFMA got a letter from Mr. Antony Xavier, Director – Tech, Coastal Aquaculture Authority, Dept. of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, AH&D, Govt. of India, Tamil Nadu, Chennai, India on the subject Stakeholders consultation to examine the import duty to be stipulated on imported shrimp feed to India. CLFMA responded on the same on August 13, 2020, stating that the decision on fixing the concessional basic custom duty structure and earnestly requested the Government to make a duty structure in such a way that it will match the prices of our aquaculture farmers at the same will take care of the prawn feed importers / feed millers as well.

CLFMA Webinar on “Economy” – Today’s Scenario and Investment Tactics" on 24th August, 2020 at 05:00 pm

Normally, CLFMA conducts Webinar covering the topics either related to Livestock Industry or Feed Industry. But this time, CLFMA conducted Webinar on “Economy” –Today’s Scenario and Investment Tactics" on 24th August, 2020. Mr. S. V. Bhave, CLFMA Chairman invited the eminent speaker Mr.Chandrashekhar Tilak, Post graduate in Commerce as well as Post graduate in Law to speak on the aforesaid subject on 24th August, 2020 . During the Seminar, Mr.Tilak spoke on current Economic Scenario, on present investment scenario, on recent trends and tendencies in Equity and Mutual fund, SME, MSME and at the same time Banking and Re-financing in detail. He covered totally different topic. CLFMA got very good response from the Members on the same.

5th Combined Feed Additive List approved by GOI

CLFMA’s efforts were successful in getting all the complete 5 Feed Additive lists (earlier four lists and newly recommended 5th Feed Additive List.) approved by government. On its receipt, CLFMA circulated the same on 31st August, 2020 to all CLFMA Members. I would like to extend my thanks to CLFMA Technical Committee and others, who put their tremendous efforts by continuously following it up with the Government of India for the same.

Total Approved commodities by GOI – 142. Around 91 was submitted by the CLFMA Technical Committee and 3 products viz. Vitamin Premix - Vitamin Mineral Premix Feed Grade (As per formula) and Minerals like Monosodium Phosphate, Disodium Phosphate has not been approved by GOI.

On 23rd September, 2020, CLFMA OF INDIA submitted a List of Feed Additives (Some more products to be included as Animal Feed Supplements i.e. total 31 Nos.) along with PFI to Government of India.

On 30th September, 2020, CLFMA had its 53rd Annual General Meeting through Video Conferencing, in which, it has been decided that due to Covid 19 Pandemic CLFMA Election for the next 2 years tenure and Symposium (An annual flagship event of CLFMA) would be postponed till the Covid situation normalizes. In this regard, CLFMA passed a Resolution and was approved by all unanimously.

As Livestock Industry is fighting with the Bankers to get the Working Capital and to ease that process and to make it convenient for the Industrialist, I thought it would be great if CLFMA can arrange a Webinar with YES Bank on 16th October, 2020, where in all the pros and cons of how to get loan, how to apply for Government of India Infrastructure Development Fund, etc. will be discussed in detail with the Banking Experts and CLFMA Members can gain a knowledge as well.

Also, I would like to solicit your valuable inputs and suggestions to improve further and achieve the newer heights.
