Year 2019 has come to an end with full of activities of CLFMA. The year was fairly exciting for our industry and challenging as well particularly in the policy and regulatory fronts as well.

Let me share the highlights of CLFMA activities in the month of December, 2019:

Post Symposium 2019 Activities / Events:
14th PDFA Dairy & Agri Expo 2019 held at Jagraon, Ludhiana – Punjab from December 7-9, 2019:

Progressive Dairy Farmer’s Association, a prime institute of dairy farmers in Asia, South East Asia and African region, conducted its 14th Dairy and Agro Expo 2019, at Jagraon, Punjab from 7th to 9th December, 2019.

I participated as a Panelist in the panel discussion of the “PDFA Dairy Industry Outlook-2020”, wherein progress of the Dairy Industry and its future in India was discussed in detail.

It was an international level show, where more than 200 leading companies related to Dairy and Agro took part. Farmers from more than 20 countries and from all States of India participated in this expo. Shri. Giriraj Singh, Hon’ble Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Shri. Ajayveer Singh, Chairman, Punjab Farmer’s Commission, many M.L.A.s and Ministers from Punjab, inaugurated the expo. Approximately 10 lakh farmers visited the expo in three days.

19th Meeting of Animal Husbandry, Feeds and Equipment Sectional Committee, FAD 5 held at BIS Office, which was attended by 40-45 people on December 13, 2019.

From CLFMA Dr. Devender Hooda, President – North Zone and Director – Sales and Technical, Huvepharma India Private Ltd. attended the same. Meeting was chaired by Dr. S. Singh, Director IVRI and BIS Standards.

CLFMA Representation - Release of Wheat & Rice Stocks for Livestock Feed Industry:

Further to CLFMA representation of Wheat and Rice Stocks for Livestock Feed Industry, Joint Secretary (NLM) Shri. O. P. Chaudhary asked for clarification regarding the same from CLFMA Office. After getting the same clarified from CLFMA, the representation as well as clarification is pending at PMO Office for further action.

As per the discussion with various stakeholders, we understand that with regard to DDGS Import of Corn and Soya, both Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Animal Husbandry Department) had conveyed that the same is pending at PMO office for further action.
