Policy and Advocacy:

Recently, CLFMA wrote to the Hon'ble Union Minister of Commerce and requested him to support the industry by allowing zero-duty imports (as a short-term measure) on an urgent basis. CLFMA office closely followed up the issue with the policy makers in the above Ministries. The Government positively considered an Industry demand to allow import of 1 million tonnes of non-genetically modified Maize at zero duty to overcome a shortage in domestic output and to check rising prices at home.

CLFMA also made representation on clearance of import consignment of Salinomycin to Shri. Sagar Mehra, The Joint Secretary (Trade) for the consignments, which were withheld by the AQ Officer at Chennai.

Further, I would like to welcome your valuable suggestions and ideas as well at anytime on our publications, CLFMA events, the number of initiatives we are taking to help us to stay focused on delivering value to our members and an entire industry as a whole.

With warm regards,
S V Bhave
