Monthly Round up for the month of June 2021

June has been quite a successful month for CLFMA in terms of enhancing our visibility & recognition amongst wider industry stakeholders.
We are still trying to overcome the 2nd wave of Covid 19 Pandemic, in the meantime, Let me give you glimpse of a few important activities of last month
CLFMA Celebrated its 54th Birthday on 8th June, 2021.

Representations by CLFMA:

Representation letter dtd 15th June, 2021 sent to Shri. G. N. Singh, Joint Secretary (Admin/Trade/GC/PC/IC), New Delhi - 110 001 on the subject NOC requirement for Import consignments - reg. with a cc copy to Dr. V. Somani, DCGI, CDSCO, New Delhi, Dr. Dipankar Biswas, (Regional Officer) – Southern Region, AQCS, Chennai - 600100 & Dr. Gagan Garg, Assistant Commissioner (AH), New Delhi - 110 001 on the request of one of our Member.

On 16th June, 2021 CLFMA OF INDIA sent letter to Shri. Arun Singhal, IAS, CEO, FSSAI, New Delhi on the subject - Request for extending the Timeline of direction F.NO.95 / Std / Misc / SP [L&C /A] / FSSAI2015-Pt-1 on 27.01.2020 by 31st December, 2021. Further to that, CLFMA wrote a letter on 24th June, 2021 to Ms.Varsha Joshi, Joint Secretary (CDD), Dept. of AH&D, New Delhi with a cc copy to Mr. Rajesh K Gupta, Deputy Commissioner (DD), Dept. of AH&D, New Delhi-110001 on the same subject.

On 22nd June, 2021 CLFMA wrote a letter to Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, Hon'ble Finance Minister, Government of India, Ministry of Finance, New Delhi on the subject Circular regarding use of functionality under Section 206AB and 206CCA of the Income-tax Act, 1961- reg. and requested to the concerned department of Government of India i.e. Ministry of Finance /Department of Revenue to postpone the Circular for a minimum period of three months, so that it can be understood and implemented.

On 29th June, 2021 CLFMA sent letter to Ms. Nitasha Doger, Scientist D and Member Secretary, BIS, New Delhi – 110002 on the subject request for involving ingredient processing / manufacturing associations for reviewing IS standards for different ingredients used in Compound Cattle feed. CLFMA of India made a request to GOI to involve below mentioned Associations, who are in the manufacturing/ processing of ingredients viz. Solvent Extractors Association of India (SEA), All India Cottonseed Crushers Association (AICOSCA), The Soybean Processors Association of India (SOPA), Federation of All India Rice Miller’s Association, etc.), who needs to be involved / to be made part of these discussions with a cc copy to Shri.Atul Chaturvedi, Secretary- AHD, GOI, Mr. Pramod Kumar Tiwari, Director General, BIS, New Delhi, Shri Arun Singhal, IAS, CEO, FSSAI, New Delhi - 110002.

Events Update: CLFMA supported Webinars:

CLFMA in association with NCDEX successfully conducted a Webinar on “Hedging Price Volatility of Feed Ingredients using Commodity Derivatives" on Monday June 14, 2021 from 16:00 hrs to 17:30 hrs. with 270 participants. Dr.Sujit Kulkarni, MC Member of CLFMA, moderated the sessions. As a CLFMA Chairman, I have given the Welcome Note. Mr. Kapil Dev, Mr.Sumit Gupta, Mr. Rajib saha & Ms. Rajni Panicker were the panellist for this Seminar. The Seminar ended with Q&A Session and Hon. Secretary Mr. Suresh Deora concluded the seminar. Press Release has been circulated to all Members. Almost 270 participants attended the Webinar and utilized this wonderful platform for knowledge enhancement.

CLFMA of India extended its’ support to SEA - IOPEPC Webinar in association with SOMA on the Topic - "Wonder Nut - Groundnut" - Prosperity through Productivity on Saturday, June 19th, 2021 from 10:45am to 01:00 pm IST and fetched a very good response for the webinar. Welcome address was delivered by Shri. Atul Chaturvedi, President, SEA and Shri. Khushwant Jain, Chairman, IOPEPC. He honoured the presence of Food Secretary, Shri Sudhanshu Pandey, who delivered Key Note Address on the Topic “National Mission on Oilseeds with special reference to Groundnut” & Ms. Shubha Thakur, Secretary in Agriculture Ministry delivered a Special Address on the Topic “Atmanirbhar in Oilseeds – A Way Forward”. Shri Angshu Mallick - MD & CEO, Adani Wilmar Ltd, Shri Kishore Tanna – Chairman, CLFMA Technical Expert & Consulting Animal Nutritionist, Shri Pradeep P. Mahajan & Shri Tushar Thumar were the speakers for the Webinar. Smt. Manisha Gupta – Editor-Commodity & Currency, CNBC TV18 & CNBC Awaz moderated the session successfully. Panel Members present for the Session were Shri. Atul Chaturvedi - President, SEA, Shri. Govindbhai Patel - Managing Partner, GGN Research, Shri Priyam Patel- VP , N.K. Proteins Pvt. Ltd., Shri Nagaraj Meda - MD, TransGraph Consulting Pvt. Ltd., Shri.Mayur Mehta - Editor, Commodity World, Shri Vivek Pathak - Director, Athena Tradewinds Pvt. Ltd., Shri Mukesh Nathwani - Chairman, Gulab Oils & Foods Pvt. Ltd.

Almost 522 participants attended the Webinar and utilized this wonderful platform for knowledge enhancement.

We have planned for two more Webinars in the month of July, 2021, Mr. Selvan Kannan, is co-ordinating for GST webinar & Dr. Vijay Makhija is co-ordinating for the NCML Webinar, these Webinars will be covered in the July month . The CLFMA-NCML(AGCON) webinar is Scheduled on Friday, July 09, 2021 from 16:00pm to 17:45 pm IST. And the Topic is - "Maize & Soybean : Market Driving Factors & Price Outlook’ 2021

Stakeholder Outreach

The Government of Andhra Pradesh have enacted The Andhra Pradesh Animal Feed Act 2020 & Rules 2021. On June, 24 2021, CLFMA circulated the same to all CLFMA Members.

We were able to leverage further mileage from Webinars, which provided us an opportunity to step up our outreach and opportunities for interaction with multiple stakeholders Industry Veterans, National level organizations, Government Officials. We will be leveraging our newly established networks to further strengthen our position as one of the prominent thought leaders and policy advocacy organizations for Livestock Sector in India.

Renewal of Membership process is on for CLFMA and follow up for the same is also going on. Request you all to renew the membership on time.

Also, I would like to solicit your valuable inputs and suggestions to improve further and achieve the newer heights.
