Monthly round-up – March 2019
Dear CLFMA members and industry colleagues,
The month of March 2019, was quite good. Let me highlight some major updates / activities in the month of March 2019:
CLFMA Events Update:

VIV Asia 2019 at Bangkok:

I have delivered a presentation at VIV Asia 2019 at Bangkok on the topic “opportunities in Indian Livestock Industry” on Thursday, 14th March 2019. The objective of the presentation was to disseminate information on the opportunities available in Indian livestock sector and to attract cooperation and investments to strengthen India’s leadership position in Asia’s livestock industry.

We scheduled our 2nd Poultry Seminar @ Karnal on 17th April, 2019.

We are pleased to announce that our Symposium would be in the month of August 22-23 2019 @ New Delhi.

Policy and Advocacy:

As CLFMA wrote earlier to the Hon'ble Union Minister of Commerce and requested him to support the industry by allowing zero-duty imports (as a short-term measure) on an urgent basis. The Government positively considered an Industry demand to allow import of 1 lakh MT of feed-grade Maize (Corn) under TRQ. Applications are being invited from STEs for import of feed-grade Maize (Corn) under the TRQ scheme @ 15% Custom duty and meant only for Actual users. Import for trading purpose is not allowed by them. Date of submission of application from STEs is extended up to 30.04.2019 in relaxation of the provision of Para 2.62 (i) of HBP, 2015-2020.

In the month of March, we have submitted 5th list of Feed Additives for getting the approval from Government of India.

Further, I would like to welcome your valuable suggestions and ideas as well at anytime on our publications, CLFMA events, the number of initiatives we are taking to help us to stay focused on delivering value to our members and an entire industry as a whole.

With warm regards,
S V Bhave
