Monthly round-up – November 2018
Dear CLFMA members and industry colleagues,
CLFMA is continuing its efforts towards the upliftment of Livestock Sector in India. Let me highlight a few important activities from last month:
Policy Updates / Representations submitted by CLFMA
Cage Ban - Litigation

Executive Director CLFMA attended the meeting chaired by the Animal Husbandry Commissioner on Cage Ban issue on 16th November, 2018. He echoed the industry’s voice that the issue is of serious nature threatening the whole industry as well as food and nutritional security of the country. He also emphasized that research & scientific evidence must be the basis for making or amending any policies/regulations rather than unjustified claims from sources with vested interests. The DADF and AWBI must support the industry and voice the industry’s concerns strongly. As the industry is gearing up to face the biggest threat to its survival, the case on banning battery cages had been scheduled in Feb 2019. CLFMA is actively monitoring the developments and shall keep its members and other stakeholders posted the developments on the same from time to time.
